Fear

When fear engulfs me
her embrace is so tight...
almost strangulating,
but the noose is loose enough
so that I can scream

I look at her face
so unmoved; unperturbed
not an iota of sympathy;
no sign of realisation of turpitude

I envy her; and ask for
not mercy;
but her quintessential stone-heartedness

Melancholy rushes into her eyes
They are still dry like parched sand,
But now soaking my sorrows....
she eases the grip

when blood flushes throughout my face
she kisses me on my reddish cheeks;
murmurs in hebrewick lingo

my brain ejects her words;
but heart accepts...
without effort to discern or comprehend!

I pat her, and let her go
and she...without looking back
leaves for her destiny!

I am now ready for her, yet again

and people call it courage & valour!
